Many state governments in Australia allow unmarried couples to recognise their relationship in accordance to the law in that state with Relationship Registers or Civil Union Registers.
For Migration purposes, couples who list their association need not demonstrate that they are together for 12 months. They are eligible for Spouse Visa as soon as they receive Relationship Document.
